GREATNESS OF THE LORD,PURI JAGANNATH

The lord at puri (Jagannath) is extremely kind and compassionate. The sikhs say, "Our lord is so kind!" But why do they say that? This is what I wonder. Do children say that their parents are kind and compassionate? No! Similarly, is it not a fact that our lord is already kind? Who can be more compassionate than him!

Once, a devotee was meditating on the lord in solitude. In deep meditation,he saw krishna and balarama dancing! However, he thought that it was his own imagination, and walked away. Then the lord said, " No! it was really me and my brother!"  Though the devotee became a sceptic, the lord bought back his faith by switching on the light of wisdom in his pure heart.
THIS IS A 100% TRUE STORY!!!

It is said in the bramha-purana  that the lord  Jagannath's names are holy as well as auspicious.
Then just imagine how great is the lord!

The fatman bhisma, a charecter in mahabharata saya the following to his brother:-

"Brahma and other guardians of ten directions are bewitched by jagannath,
And due to jagannath's movement and progress the universe appears in pieces.

Through the pity and affection Of Jagananatha ,
all the beings spread all over are
                                       ornamented with truth and dharma."

This also certainly shows us how great is the lord at puri.

O my Lord, Jagannath, son of Vasudeva, O all-pervading Personality of Godhead, I offer my respectful obeisances unto You. I meditate upon Lord Jagannath because He is the Absolute Truth and the primeval cause of all causes of the creation, sustenance and destruction of the manifested universes. He is directly and indirectly conscious of all manifestations, and He is independent because there is no other cause beyond Him. It is He only who first imparted the Vedic knowledge unto the heart of Brahmājī, the original living being. By Him even the great sages and demigods are placed into illusion, as one is bewildered by the illusory representations of water seen in fire, or land seen on water. Only because of Him do the material universes, temporarily manifested by the reactions of the three modes of nature, appear factual, although they are unreal. I therefore meditate upon Him, Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa, who is eternally existent in the transcendental abode, which is forever free from the illusory representations of the material world. I meditate upon Him, for He is the Absolute Truth.

May the lord's grace descend on us, for his will is everything.
May he always be with us, for we are just mere pawns in his great game.

THANK YOU

MII
